Nature has been kind to Burgundy as its vineyards have very different types of soil
compositions, altitudes and exposures. As a consequence, Burgundy possesses a wide
diversity of wines with a vast array of appellations.

Two varietals of the highest quality grapes prevail in this area: Chardonnay (white Burgundy)
which expresses its aromas fully in Chablis and in the Côte de Beaune; whereas Pinot noir
(red Burgundy) remains unequalled for the Grands Crus produced in the Côte de Nuits.

However, the Burgundian complexity is not restricted to its world-renowned appellations.
