Gevrey Chambertin

The Gevrey Chambertin Apellation is partly produced on the lands of Gevrey Chambertin, in Burgundy, France. This Côte de nuits is located on the Grand Crus road, in the south of the town of Dijon.

Archaeological remains were found in Gevrey Chambertin. Vineyards from the 1^st century, from the roman empire were planted in line, but with a different aspect. To keep their wine, romans used to add spices.

In 630, monks from the Abbey of Bèze created the Clos de Bèze. Those same monks baptised the chapel they had built: « Chapelle-Chambertin ». The Bertin name came from one of their neighbours’, a vine owner. They bought his vines after he died.

And Chambertin gained fame from Napoleon period.

Its quality and fame remains contant.
