Vin de Pays des Collines Rhodanniennes

It seems that the first vines of the Rhône Valley were planted by Greek travellers more than 2000 years ago. The vineyards were developed by the Romans, afterwards. The region can be
divided into two distinct parts:

• The Northern Rhône with its continental climate, from South of Lyon to South of Valence: a place where Syrah (grape variety)is well-known for making red wines as Côte-Rôtie and Hermitage. Whereas the Viognier, planted on uneven terraces of Condrieu, becomes a delicate "nectar" which makes white wines...


• The Southern Rhône, more Mediterranean, offers a large diversity of varietals, appellations and styles. Next to the most famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas, wonderful discoveries can be made in Lirac or Vacqueyras …
