BordeauxChâteau la Tour de By
The first owner of this estate situated close to the banks of the Gironde Estuary, on a gravelly rise was Pierre Tizon, Lord of the Fief of By in 1559. In 1860, La Roque de By passed into the hands of Monsieur Alfred Rubichon who built the present chateau in 1876. The estate took a new name: “La Tour de By“. Overlooking both the vines and the estuary, the tower (tour) is a former lighthouse constructed in 1825 on the ruins of a windmill
The family Pages, who also possesses Château Noaillac in Jau-Dignac-Loirac, is now the owner of this Cru Bourgeois Supérieur and its 75 hectares of gravelly soil only planted with premium grape varieties. Aged in oak barrel, this wine has two main characteristics : its finesse and its excellent ageing potential.
