BordeauxChâteau Lagrange

Known in the Middle Ages as the “Maison Noble de Lagrange Monteil”, Château Lagrange was the first estate in 1842 where vineyard drainage was implemented. The man who had this shrewd idea was the former Minister of the Interior of King Louis-Philippe, Count Duchatel.

Ranked as a Third Growth in the Classification of 1855, Château Lagrange is a huge estate with 157 hectares. The vineyard is planted in a single block on two mounds of Günzian gravel, at the highest point in Saint-Julien.

Château Lagrange is a lovely wine made from older vines of Cabernet Sauvignon (66%), Merlot (27%) and Petit Verdot (6%) with an average age of more than 30 years.
