”Mont rose” (pink hill) refers to the pink heather that covered the gravel croupe before it was replaced with vines. This property covers 95 hectares and includes a huge vineyard of 67 hectares in a single lot as well as a château built in 1825, buildings and accomodations for the workers. A small and charming village indeed!

For more than a century, the Charmolüe family has run Château Montrose ranked as a Deuxième Cru in 1855. Their coat of arms personalises the label of these high quality wines.

Cabernet and Merlot are planted on a beautiful slope running alongside the Gironde, in the south-eastern corner of the Saint Estèphe commune. This terroir is simply perfect for red grapes. Here, they produce remarkable wines with a great consistency, which are often compared with Château Latour wines (only 5km away).
