BordeauxChâteau Moulin Riche
Second wine of Château Léoville-Poyferré, Château Moulin Riche is nonetheless a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur of Saint-Julien de Rignac, which is second only in name. In the 19th century, 20 hectares of moor were cleared as the quality of the terroir – gravelly crests – got noticed. Moulin Riche was at the head of the Crus Bourgeois Supérieurs in a very short time.
Château Moulin Riche belongs to the Cuvelier family who also owns Château Léoville-Poyferré. Thanks to its terroir and a small proportion of Petit Verdot, Moulin Riche has its own personality. This grape variety, when blended with Cabernet Sauvingon, brings indeed a greater complexity to the wine. Château Moulin Riche will deliver very pleasant sruprises after a few years bottle ageing.
