The vineyard of Coulée de Serrant has been growing vines since the 12th century, which gives them great pride, as there is only a few vineyards that have been in existence so long.
The 2008 vintage is made from the 857th harvest !
This vineyard of the Loire region produces 3 wines of different appellations : Coulée de Serrant, Clos de la Bergerie (AOC Savennières Roche aux Moines) and Vieux Clos (AOC Savennière), all made from a unique grape-variety, the Chenin.

Here, we think that the quality of a wine is determinated before the harvest, thus the 16 hectares of the vineyard are completely farmed in Biodynamy since 1984.

The compost which is used comes from the herd of cows on the estate (« Nantaises cows », a very rare breed), the ploughing of the soil is reduced to the minimum and done manually with a horse, a flock of sheep graze in vineyards during winter and the vinification is very simple… These are the many elements that combined together prove that the Biodynamy is here elevated to a doctrine .
It is indeed the only way to fully emphazise all the typicity and the microclimate of each terroir. And this produces original wines, with a strong personality, complex, inimitable…
