The vineyard of Alphonse Mellot was planted in the 16th century and is located in the Sancerre appellation.
The renown of the vineyard dates back to 1881 when their wines start to be exported in France and in foreign countries.
Since then their fame has continued to grow.
In the Mellot family, passion for vines and wines is transmited from father to son for several generations. The estate is today managed by Alphonse Mellot, father and son, 18th and 19th of the name.

The vineyard is planted in Sauvignon grape-variety for white wine and in Pinot for red and « rosé ». The great respect dedicated to the terroir, allows the wines to fully reveal their minerality and their richness.
The ageing in historic cellars combined with the ancient know-how of father and son of the Mellot family who are passionate wine-growers, offer exceptional red and white wines. Both are classified among the best in the world.
