Located in Sablet, an ancient fortified Provençal village, Domaine de Piaugier is renowned for its excellent Côtes de Rhône Villages, mostly red and dry white wines.

Over the last 14 years, Sophie and Jean-Marc Autran, fourth generation of this family estate, have been cultivating 30 hectares of vines following the principles of reasoned culture, that means with limited yields (35 to 40 hl/ha) and manual harvests in selected pickings called “tris” in order to select only the ripest grapes.
The Domaine is composed of a large number of small plots with steep slopes and therefore various soils made up predominantly of clay, decalcified sand and flint. Besides, the vines, mostly Vieilles Vignes are between 28 and 45 years old. Grenache, Clairette, Viognier and Roussanne produce their Côtes du Rhône Vilages Sablet, an elegant dry white wine whereas Grenache and Mourvèdre give a full-bodied and fine red wine with lovely tannins called Les Briguières.

Interesting modern full fruit driven wines but with all the spicy peppery characteristics of the Rhône and with pleasant freshness and minerality.
