For centuries, vines were cultivated on its limestone soil and this famous Eau-de-viebelongs to French tradition and history.
Cognac mostly comes from one grape variety: the Ugni Blanc which produces an acidic, light wine, -excellent for distillation.
We have selected some Cognacs from the main interesting growth areas or Crus:
- Grande and Petite Champagne, strong Eaux-de-vie which only express their finess after a long ageing in oak barrels. This gives them their colour and part of their taste.
- Borderies and Fins bois, delicate and light Eaux de vie which reach their maturity quicker.
