The REUNION island has 3 working distilleries. They all use columns stills and produce very elaborated rums.

« Rivière du Mât » is the most important distillery in Reunion. Being the heiress to an old know-how, dating from 1704, it produces nowadays different kind of rums : traditional rum (made from molasses), agricultural rum (made from sugar cane juice) and light-bodied rum ; thanks to a very modern equipement including among others a three columns still. As a symbol of their philosophy, the rum makers have created the circle of the « Tangliers », this mythical animal being the result of the union between the Reunion hedgewood and the wildboar. Combination of tradition and strongness, this is the idea that the Circle wish to perpetuate by celebrating the island way of life through their "Rivière du Mât" rums.
