Natural sweet wineDomaine Ombre et Soleil
The 11 ha estate of Christophe Guittet, Ombre et Soleil, is located near the village of Tautavel, in the Agly Valley, 28 km from the Mediterranean. Close to Perpignan, it is the warmest and the driest valley of the Pyrenees-Orientales.
Vines aged between 20 and 80 do not suffer from the lack of water as their roots go deeply into the clayey, schistose or stony soils. Macabeu, Grenache, Muscat, Carignan and Mourvèdre are traditional grape varieties of the region and grow on slopes in order to continue the typicity of the Pyrenean wines.
Run along biodynamic lines with an average yield of 20hl/ha, the estate no longer uses pesticide or weedkiller. From now on, only Bordeaux mixture, sulphur powder, and herbal tea are spread and hedges fence the vineyards and create a micro-system beneficial to the environment and to the quality of the grapes.
Vinified in the most natural way (no yeast addition, no enzymes or tartaric acid), Domaine Ombre et Soleil wines are full-flavoured and typical of the region.
