The most Westerly distillery of the Isle of Islay (and of Scotland) is located on the shores of Loch Indall. Far away from the big companies that reign in the whisky production world, Bruichladdish can be proud to belong to the very select circle of privately owned distilleries.
Built in 1881 by Robert, William and John Gourley Harvey, it is still nowadays directed by the same family. Among the 7 working distilleries of the island, Bruichladdish, also known under the name of « The Ladie », distinguishes itself by producing whiskys very lightly peated.
