Situated 140 km South-West of Glasgow, the little town of Campbeltown is nested in the peninsula of Kintyre. Known as the capital of the whisky in the 19th century, the town counted then 34 distilleries. Only 3 remain nowadays : Spingbank and Longrow and Glen Scotia its rival.
Thanks to the coastal and windy situation of the distillery, the whiskies of Campbeltown have a real personality, an oily and pickled in brine structure.

The other specificity of the Springbank whiskies is that the entire production, the traditional malting, maturation and bottling, is done at the distillery in Campbeltown. The spirits are aged in bourbon, Xéres and Demerara rum barrels.
The Springbank malts are characterized by an astonishing complexity.
Their medium-bodied palate, is underlined by peaty and Xéres notes, accompanied by additional flavours of cereals, grass and a salty overtone due to the maritime ambiance of the whiskies storehouse. A complexity that has earned the Springbank range the great name of « Petrus of the single malts ! ».
