This distillery is to the Japanese malt what the Speyside region is to the Scottish single malt : a great classic !
Yamakazi, the oldest distilley of the Japanese archipelago (established in 1923), kindles the curiousity of the single malts connoisseurs as well as it is the Suntory Japanese company’s pride and joy. It has been the first non-scottish distillery to owns a copper pot-still. Yamakazi has definitely joined the big league when it has been elected « best single malt of 2006 » by the from now on rechkoned Malt Maniacs.
