This family, wine makers for 10 generations, live in Chavignol, a village close to Sancerre. Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir are the only varietals of their estate and grow on a soil composed of Kimmeridgean limestone and marl.

Some of the oldest vines (40 years old) in their vineyard of 65 hectares were planted in the village of Chavignol, renowned for its sloping and well-exposed hillsides. Low yields allow an optimum concentration of the wine.

To preserve the excellence of the grapes, gravity is used throughout the winemaking process and individual parcels are vinified separately. The alcoholic fermentation occurs either in Tronçais forest oak barrels or in tanks. M. Bourgeois and his sons blend together tradition, respect of the terroir and old traditional practices with the best of modernity and produce some of the finest Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé wines.
